Hives

(before the hives; i bought this chair for him to watch "The Wiggles" in)

Mattingly started getting a few hives on Wed I believe. Thurs he had a bunch more and at night there were a lot. By morning he had a ton and got more and more. I made a call to the doctor and brought him in. He was labeled allergic to amoxocillion. And the hives started to go down and weren't as red. Well now it's Saturday morning and he has more on his face and hands. The ones on his back and neck are gone and not as bad in his groin area. But I am wondering if this is common or not??! I guess I will have to call the doc to check it out. My poor poor baby!!!!

New Shelf

I finally found a pretty good shelf space for Mattingly's toys and books. I can't believe they don't see toy boxes or something good for kids rooms at like Target or Wal Mart. The 2 they had were ugly and you had to put together. Well the one I bought you had to too, but still whatever happened to good old fashioned toy boxes. They also don't sell any type of lounge chairs besides a baseball beanbag. I need to open my own store. Oh and don't forget slides. I know Toys R Us has those but that is it?! Anyway I tried to put this thing together and it didn't happen so Mark did. :) With a little hammer help from Mattingly.

1st ER visit

I woke up to a loud barking cough at 5:30am this morning. I knew right away it was croup. A kid in another room at the daycare had it. He didn't even come in our room and Mattingly wasn't there but I don't know where else it came from. I stuck him in bed with us and he fell right back to sleep on me for a little over an hour. He was making noise when breathing so I was a little nervous and couldn't go back to sleep. I read about croup; called out of work and then called the dr. at 9. I spoke to a nurse who said to go to the Children's Hospital b/c he needed a breathing treatment right away. His nose was flared and his belly was going in when breathing. I told Mark and called my poor mother to go with me. She was able to so Mark stayed to work. The hospital was full of staff and not enough patients or something b/c we saw every nurse there once. That was annoying. And then 2 drs or one intern and one doc. I have no clue. It was crazy. They listened to him and said it was not good that he sounded that way when sitting still. So they gave him an inhaler treatment and then a steriod and took 2 looks at his ear and decided he was starting to get an ear infection too. Scary at first but I settled down. He sounds much better now when just sitting. Still a little barky, but that will fade, hopefully. Mark will take him to the doctor tomorrow for a follow up. Glad it's over. PS. He was such a sport at the hospital. He walked around the room and hung out lookin so cute in his little gown! I had my phone so I took a few pictures that I will try to somehow post.(Thanks grandma for missing your massage to go to the hospital!)

Yankee Game

Last weekend we ventured out to the new Yankee stadium. The 3 of us and my friend Laura and her boyfriend. We took the train right to the stadium which was awesome! Less hassle of figuring out which subway to get on and then cramming on. The new stadium is beautiful. So many cool things. I didn't get to see them all though so I hope to go back again. You are able to go to the lower level behind homeplate now and stand. It's so cool. Mattingly did very well until the 7th inning. It was very loud so he couldn't nap. All the cheering made him cry so Mark took him for a walk but it was still pretty loud. We left in the 9th with 1 out to go. We got back on the train and what do you know Mattingly didn't fall asleep until 10min before our stop! Stinker. A little different from last year when he slept twice during the game in the hot sun and on the train.

Birthday Boy

Mattingly is now a year young. I won't say time flies but it was pretty quick especially after the first say 6 months. haha When I finally got him sleeping at night in his crib. On his actual birthday my parents and aunt (from Wisconsin), brother and sister-in-law came over for lunch and then we went to Gillette's Castle. It was a nice day out for it. Then we came home and had some cake. Friday all of us except my mom went to the Peabody Museum. Nothing special. It was okay. Mattingly had fun walking along the glass where the stuffed animals were.
