Baseball

Mattingly has been practicing baseball at night now. Despite the hot weather both were out there like troopers!

Buttonwood Farm

We went back to Buttonwood Farm with Laura again this year. We went last Tues so it wasn't as crowded. It was still pretty hot though. They added a cow ride for the kids this year. It was so cute! Mattingly didn't want to go on it of course. Maybe next year with Myla. Mattingly loved feeding the cows this year! He was not shy about it. Myla enjoyed watching the cows and trying to eat the hay. The sunflowers weren't as tall this year; probably due to the lack of rain. None the less it was still beautiful and the ice cream was still delicious. Coconut!

Down time

Mattingly definitely enjoys a popsicle on a warm day as well as cooling off in the water. That pool was for cousin Llyeton's birthday party.

Roger Williams Zoo

is a great zoo! The animals there are the ones you'd want to see and they do story time and feeding time. They even have a new area called Our Big Backyard which had areas to play in tents, a fishing area, water area, dress up, a tree house, blocks. It was really cool and since it was a warm day out Mattingly played in the water.

Yankee Game

Daddy surprised us by taking us to a Yankee game. It was the perfect day. Warm but not hot. And our seats were in the shade for almost the entire game! Mattingly did a pretty good job sitting. Not as attentive as the past years but he enjoyed seeing all the guys he sees on TV. He was pretty disappointed when we said he couldn't meet A Rod. That's probably why he was excited about the game. He did a great job on the train as well and he slept most of the ride to and from the Stamford train station. WAY too much traffic to get there so we're sticking to going out of New Haven, even if it is $10 more a ticket. It took 2 hours to get there and then we were still on the train another 1/2 hour or more and had to get off and take another train for a few more min b/c they didn't have the train running straight to the stadium that day.

Build A Bear

Thank you Uncle Joel and Aunt Katy! I made the Koala Bear and bought a Cars and Spiderman outfit along with some socks. I loved making and and dress up my animals all the time. I carry the koala everywhere. Myla even likes it. (More outfits for a future present would be great.)

Cousins

My sister, brother in law and their 2 girls Ella and Edie visited a few weeks ago. It was so nice to have someone for Mattingly to play with. Lots of driving but hey it was closer than a drive to Chicago! We hung out at my parent's in the pool, swings, walking, we went to the Beardsley Zoo, Silver Sands Beach, hiked Sleeping Giant and loved spending time with the fam. It's really cool that my sister is able to come here twice a year. :) Can't wait for the next visit.

Memories

Mattingly was reliving when he used to lie down on this tummy time mat. And of course when it was Myla's turn he couldn't resist tickling her.
