Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday Mark and I took Mattingly to a farm near us for an Easter egg hunt. It was so cold and busy but Mattingly seemed to enjoy it. He fell asleep on the way but woke up once he heard animals were there. He liked waving to them and making their sounds. He didn't do so much hunting for the eggs. He was more interested in opening the eggs to see what was inside than picking them up to put in my purse. Yes, I forgot a basket for him to put the eggs in. Oops first time mom I guess.

Chapstick

Mattingly loves using my chapstick and will sometime eat it too. Not good. I had this brilliant idea to buy him the giant lipsmacker chapstick. Well he probably ate more than he used. Oh well. These are pictures of him trying to get the cap off, putting it on and then trying to put the cap on again.

Walk with Dad

We took full advantage of the beautiful day out today. Mattingly watched the neighbors outside and played in the car while I cleaned it. Then Dad took him out for a walk. He found a pine cone on the way. I tried to capture the 2 of them holding hands but Mattingly came running up to me. They also took a little walk in the woods down to the stream in the back yard. No nap today for the little man. Although I'm pretty sure while he's on the couch watching Wonder Pets he'll fall asleep for a little bit and it's 5:15pm!

OBSESSED with bubble baths

It started Wednesday when Mark was home with Mattingly. Mattingly kept saying "bubble, bubble". Mark didn't want to blow bubbles in the house. Finally in the afternoon Mattingly took Mark by the hand into the bathroom and pointed to the bath saying "bubbles". (I had given him a bubble bath Sunday). So when I got home I gave him a bubble bath and now he wants one every night. And then this morning he took me by the hand and said "bath". All because I bought bubble bath on sale for $1. I guess I should have bought more!!

Not a fan

of the snow, or maybe it's the cold. Mattingly didn't want to bundle up and go outside but I made him anyway. He found his work goggles from one of his great aunts and wanted to wear those outside. We got outside and he just stood there. I plopped him in the snow and he still just stood there. I put some snow in his hands and he just stood there. Then I started throwing snow so he did. He liked that. Then he took his mittens off and wanted to walk around with the chunk of snow in his hands and bring it inside. I let him bring it inside and then when he was distracted I threw it out. Then he took a nice warm bath for awhile.

Little Man

Lately before bed Mattingly wants "up" on our bed and wants to watch TV. Bad habit started when he was sick. One night last week I stuck him up there and left the room. A few minutes later I passed by the room and he was sitting there reading magazines he found on the bed. It was the cutest thing. He kept pointing at Santa in one magazine.
