Pumpkin Town

Mattingly and I went to Pumpkin Town in East Hampton a few weeks ago. It was okay. A little creepy. Mattingly of course was afraid of all the pumpkin people so we didn't stay too long. His favorite part was the kids shooting balls into a little pond trying to get them into a hole in the raft and a guy in the water collecting the balls. He liked all the painted pumpkins and picked out his favorite-Elmo. I tried to entice him to get the Yankees but he didn't want to.

August posts. I had one in my drafts I never put up and did today but it goes under August.

Trains

Last weekend Mark set up his old train set for Mattingly. He loved it but is still a little too young or we need a bigger table! If the train isn't set on the track just right it falls off the track and on the floor. This caused a few mishaps. The last fall chipped the connector to pull other cars. Mattingly sure looks like a pro sitting there running it though!

Big E

Last weekend Mattingly and I went to the Big E with Mark's cousin Tracy and her fiancee Oneal. What a day. We sat in traffic forever and my car reached 113 degrees! Then we arrived and it was so hot and packed! Mattingly enjoyed the Barnum and Bailey Circus Museum and that's probably about it. He didn't eat anything and we didn't stop to see the animals b/c it was packed. Oh we did see the sheep which he liked. He was afraid of the cows and he didn't go on any rides. I think we'll have to wait until he's a little bit older and has somebody to go with on rides to go to the Big E again b/c that fair is a Big P(ain)!

Ice cream in Essex

Spur of the moment today we called grandma and papa D to go out for ice cream and take a walk since it was another gorgeous day. Mattingly had fun running down the sidewalk saying hi to people and seeing all the dogs, as well as having grandpa hide behind things and scare him.

Rock Cats Game

One of the players, Mark.

I decided since it was such a beautiful day out yesterday why not go sit at a baseball game. It was one of the last Rock Cat's games so Mattingly and I headed out. We walked around and then sat down for the entire game! (with a short recess to get an ice cream) Mattingly had a great time. He cheered for the Twins and the Yankees and A Rod. He would tell me to look at the guy hitting and say oh miss it if the batter missed or an outfielder missed. He'd clap with everyone else and watched intently as a guy tried stealing and got a little upset when called out. After the game we stood in line so he could run the bases. He was extra excited to do that until he ran in to one of the mascots, he turned and headed back the other way!

1st glove

Mark decided to take Mattingly to buy his first baseball glove on Friday night. What a treat for the 3 of us. They spent time together and I got to stay home alone for a little while. He has a lot of fun playing catch when daddy gets home from work. We're working on keeping the glove on while retrieving the ball.
