Monkey boy

I have been putting Mattingly in all of his monkey shirts and taking pictures b/c I am finally going to start his scrapbook and found cute monkey stuff for it. :)

He is starting to get up on his hands and knees on his own now! We're going to be in big trouble. Not that we aren't already b/c he drags himself along the floor. I wish our basement would get finished soon. Maybe I'll have Laura help me with that too! haha She came over Saturday to help me hang a few pictures. They weren't up to Mark's standards but hey they're up now!

Lately Mattingly has been wanting to eat everything in sight. He won't eat much of it but he'll try it! I gave him some ham yesterday; not a fan. I bought some dried apple bit and new crackers and veggie sticks. He likes all of that. Oh he ate almost a whole 1/2 grilled cheese last week. He chew on the chicken and beef I give him but doesn't swallow it. So no more of that for a while. Say Eric if you read this-I'd like the oatmeal recipe with the fruits in it, it's baked.

That's about all. I need to get ready for work now. (I got up early for some reason and had time to write)

The Weekend

Yesterday we took at trip to Stew Leonard's. That was a zoo! I thought it would be cool for Mattingly to see all the singing things in there that I had heard about. (it was my first time too) He didn't seem to care. He watched. No smile, no cry, just looked. I wish I lived closer so I could buy my meat there though. That dept. was amazing. Nice and fresh! I brought my camera and of course left it in the car. I did snap a picture of him in his carseat holding that frog that hangs down. He loves holding the tags to the hanging toys; especially while sleeping. It is so cute!

He started holding his own bottle apparently. Not all the time and it has to be just the right holding position, according to dad. :)

My parents gave Mattingly a standing toy that they had for when Eleanor was little. Now is a perfect time for him to have it so we took it home. He loves it. He thinks he's such a big boy. He laughs and doesn't cry if he loses balance and falls.

Oh also I bought an A-Rod shirt for him on sale in which he wore yesterday. I will have to find a Mattingly one. :) Well I did on ebay but I want to find a cuter one.

I just realized that

his mouth is open in lots of the pictures of him. Another thing in common with Uncle Joel. :)

Naps

I still let Mattingly sleep in our bed for naps if I nap with him or Mark is still in bed or something. Probably is a bad idea but I'm over it. He sleeps half the time in the car anyway and he sleeps in his crib at night so whatever. Anyhow I also feel like I have to justify myself. Here are a few pictures of him on our bed.

Sick Boy

Horrible cough, runny nose. No good. But he is such a trooper. He smiles and eats great. He just likes to be held lots more. That's okay with me. He won't be little much longer and want to be held so I am taking full advantage. =)

Still not crawling. Could be very soon though. I can't believe it. Our house is not ready for a crawler. I need to get the carpets cleaned and do something about Melky first! Hopefully pops will finish the basement this summer so that can be the hot spot to play. That would be a lot better!

Mattingly got his first valentine's this week. One was a little stuffed monkey and one was a paper one that said "king of my heart" from his little girlfriend. So cute. He also made us a valentine at school. He painted a heart! (and tasted the paint)

What else....he loves eating "real" bananas; and anything we are eating! He loved grandma's pumpkin break a few weeks ago. He is definitely starting to eat more. Which means I need to hook the new car seat up b/c carrying him in that infant seat is not working out. Hopefully this weekend I will get that done and buy him a new high chair. One that doesn't recline and that is easier to see the food.
